Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has fixed 160 as the minimum score for candidates seeking admission into the institution for the 2026/2027 academic session.
In a notice signed by the Registrar, Mrs. Atinuke A. Oguntunde, the university said the Post-UTME screening exercise is open to candidates who selected UNIOSUN as their first-choice institution in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), as well as those willing to change their first choice to the university.
The institution, however, said candidates seeking admission into Law, Nursing and Islamic Law must score at least 200 in the UTME. It advised candidates who chose any of the programmes but scored below the required mark to change to other relevant programmes for which they are qualified.
UNIOSUN also announced that it would not admit candidates into its MBBS (Medicine and Surgery) programme for the 2026/2027 academic session, urging prospective applicants to consider other academic programmes offered by the university. It clarified that the decision applies only to the 2026/2027 admission exercise and does not affect its commitment to medical education or the continued development of its College of Health Sciences.
The university further stated that, in line with the National Policy on Admission, candidates who will be below 16 years of age as of September 30, 2026, are not eligible to apply.
Direct Entry candidates were directed to complete their applications online and ensure that their academic transcripts are forwarded to the Registrar of the university on or before Friday, September 4, 2026. The institution added that all Direct Entry candidates, including those from its IJMB and JUPEB programmes, must obtain the JAMB Direct Entry form and participate in the screening exercise.
According to the notice, applicants must possess at least five relevant credit passes in SSCE, NECO or NABTEB obtained in not more than two sittings. However, candidates seeking admission into Law, Nursing and Islamic Law must have five relevant credit passes in SSCE or NECO at one sitting. The university also noted that it may accept a minimum of Lower Credit qualification for Direct Entry candidates.
The institution warned applicants against supplying false information during registration, stating that anyone found to have falsified records would be prosecuted, have their admission withdrawn and forfeit any fees already paid. Candidates awaiting O’Level results were advised to upload them within one week of their release, while those who fail to participate in the screening exercise will not be considered for admission.
UNIOSUN said admissions for the session would be processed through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s Central Admission Processing System (CAPS), urging candidates to upload their O’Level results to the JAMB CAPS portal as a prerequisite for admission.
The university also disclosed that all successful candidates would undergo compulsory medical examinations, including drug screening, before completing their admission process.
Candidates are required to complete their registration through the university’s admission portal at https://admissions.uniosun.edu.ng or the university website at https://www.uniosun.edu.ng. The application fee is ₦5,000, comprising ₦3,000 as Portal Access Fee and ₦2,000 for the Post-UTME screening, payable via the Remita WebPAY platform using ATM cards.
The university said the application portal will close at 12 noon on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
