The Osun State University Alumni Association has re-elected Abubakar Abdulbasit Olamilekan as its National President during the association’s National Convention held at the Olagunsoye Oyinlola Hall on the institution’s main campus.
The convention, which attracted alumni members from different parts of Nigeria and the diaspora, also featured the election of new national executives and the adoption of constitutional amendments aimed at strengthening the association.
Speaking after the election, members described the process as peaceful, transparent and credible.Other officers elected during the convention include Akinlade Boluwatife as National Vice President, Azeez Uthman Adewale as National General Secretary, Salami Adijat Yetunde as National Social Director, and Habib Abdulrasheed Opeyemi as National Financial Director.Returning executives include Arasanyin Azeezat Abimbola as Assistant National General Secretary, Gbadamosi Abdulwahab Abiodun as National Treasurer, Oluwasegun Funmise Faleyimu as National Public Relations Officer, and Dr Adedayo Jamiu Afolabi as National Auditor General.The Electoral Committee Chairman, Mr Adekunle Akinrinade, announced the results during the convention.
The event also featured the presentation of the association’s financial report by the National Treasurer on behalf of the External Auditor.
Members reportedly commended the executive council for transparency, accountability and prudent financial management.The convention further ratified the appointment of seven new members into the association’s Board of Trustees.
Participants at the gathering described the convention as another milestone in the history of the association and reaffirmed their commitment to the continued growth of the UNIOSUN Alumni community.
