UNIOSUN Set to Hold 29th Inaugural Lecture on Governance in Nigeria

The management of Osun State University (UNIOSUN), under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye, has announced the University’s 29th Inaugural Lecture, scheduled to hold on Thursday, August 13, 2026.

The lecture, titled “Governance in Nigeria: Between David and Goliath,” will be delivered by Professor Bolaji Olumuyiwa Omitola, Professor of Comparative Politics and Public Administration.

The academic event will commence promptly at 2:00 p.m. at the Olagunsoye Oyinlola Auditorium, UNIOSUN Main Campus, Osogbo.

According to the University’s invitation, the Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the Council, Senate, and Congregation, extends a cordial invitation to members of the University community and the general public to attend the lecture.

Professor Omitola, an accomplished scholar, holds a B.Sc. from the University of Lagos and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Ibadan. His inaugural lecture is expected to provide scholarly insights into Nigeria’s governance landscape, examining the dynamics of power, leadership, and institutional challenges through the thought-provoking theme, “Governance in Nigeria: Between David and Goliath.”

Members of the public who are unable to attend physically can also participate virtually via Zoom using the details provided by the University.

The inaugural lecture series remains one of UNIOSUN’s foremost academic traditions, offering professors the opportunity to present the results of years of research while contributing to national discourse on issues of public importance.
