UNIOSUN suspends students’ association activities in Humanities, Culture College

Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has suspended students’ association activities in its College of Humanities and Culture for the 2026/2027 academic session following unresolved issues arising from the recently concluded college elections.

The suspension was contained in an internal memorandum dated July 2, 2026, and signed by the Acting Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Funmilayo Mary Oloyede.

According to the memorandum, the decision was taken due to “the unresolvable issues that emanated from the just concluded elections at the College of Humanities and Culture, Ikire Campus.”

“I write to inform you that Students Association activities remain on hold in the College for the 2026/2027 Academic Session,” the memorandum stated.

The university directed the outgoing executives of the association to hand over all necessary documents and the association’s properties to the Sub-Dean of the College of Humanities and Culture, Dr. Saheed Afolabi Ashafa, in person.
