UNIOSUN Announces 24th Inaugural Lecture

The Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye, has announced the university’s 24th Inaugural Lecture, set to explore groundbreaking ideas in counselling practices for social justice and change. Titled “Challenging Dominant Narratives: Heterodox and Transformative Counselling Practices for Social Justice and Change,” the lecture will be delivered by Professor Florence Adeoti Yusuf, a distinguished scholar in the field of counselling psychology. The highly anticipated event will take place on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the prestigious Olagunsoye Oyinlola Auditorium on the university’s Main Campus in Osogbo. The lecture promises to offer new perspectives on counselling, challenging established norms and fostering discourse on innovative strategies for societal transformation.

The Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the Council, Senate, and Congregation, extended a warm invitation to the general public, noting the university’s commitment to addressing contemporary issues through academic excellence. Professor Yusuf, whose extensive research spans heterodox approaches to counselling, is expected to shed light on how transformative practices can dismantle systemic inequities and promote inclusivity. Attendees, including academics, policymakers, and members of the community, will have the opportunity to engage with thought-provoking ideas and practical solutions aimed at driving social change. UNIOSUN continues to uphold its reputation as a hub for intellectual development and impactful scholarship.
