UNIOSUN student emerges spokesman for NAMLAS leadership

The Osun State University (UNIOSUN) chapter of the National Association of Muslim Law Students (NAMLAS) has achieved a significant milestone as one of its own, Jimoh AbdulWarith Ayomide, was appointed the Assistant Public Relations Officer (PRO) South in the newly inaugurated NAMLAS national leadership.

This appointment was announced during the 19th NAMLAS National Conference, which took place at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) from November 28 to November 30, 2024. The event, which doubled as the 25th anniversary celebration of NAMLAS, brought together over 200 delegates from 21 universities across Nigeria, including both Northern and Southern regions.

Jimoh AbdulWarith Ayomide’s appointment is a testament to UNIOSUN’s growing influence within the association and its commitment to excellence in leadership and representation. As Assistant PRO South, AbdulWarith will play a crucial role in managing communication and public relations for NAMLAS across Southern Nigeria, further cementing UNIOSUN’s presence on the national stage.

The conference featured various activities such as debate and moot court competitions, client counseling sessions, and panel discussions, highlighting the intellectual prowess of participating law students.

The grand highlight of the conference was the formal handover of leadership from the erstwhile National Ameer (President), Sulaimon Olayiwola Ibraheem, to his successor, Ibrabim Muhammad Usman and the new national executives, marking a new chapter in NAMLAS’s history.

UNIOSUN’s participation in the conference and Ayomide’s inclusion in the leadership underscores the institution’s continued contribution to nurturing leaders who will make a lasting impact in the legal and Islamic communities.
